The Grímsvötn hut, inhabited by scientists looks peaceful but is situated by the site of the big eruption under Vatnajökull in 1996.

Vatnajökull is the largest icecap in Europe covering more than 8% of Iceland. Dad went there on a trip two weeks ago.
