Last night I went downtown walking. Thousands of people do. On December 23 Icelanders cook this really disgusting fish that tastes like ammonium. It smells like your worst nightmare. Afterwards the houses smell so bad that people have to stay outside for the whole evening while strange men wearing masks make their homes inhabitable again. Luckily for me I have no teeth yet so I'm not allowed to eat it. Next year I plan to call in sick. I slept outside a coffee house for a while before we could go back home.
Mom and dad think I grow up so fast they tried to put me in an old people's home today. However they were full so they didn't want me. I got to see my great grandmother while we waited. She is 99 years older than me.
In the evening we opened a lot of presents some of them were bigger than me. I even got a package from China. It was brought by the Santa Cat who squeezed it in though the cat entrance downstairs.

This weekend I went on another trip to Landmannalaugar. We stayed overnight in a mountain hut full of tourists. They were very impressed by our entrance in the cabin, the twins' and mine that is. They had hiked for hours through the highland to get there. I say they just made a lousy deal with their travel agency. I faked not being able to walk with my agency and they brought me along for free in a fancy seat. I was carried around. I didn't even have to help cooking. I talked to some nice girls while the others made us dinner. The foreigners were all excited about the northern lights and the hot spring swimming while we veterans went to bed. They found it funny for some reason that I had been there before while they hadn't and that I was twice the age now than when I came the first time.

Yesterday I played with the matchbox that came with my karate gi kit. It was all over the news today. Luckily for me I'm still so tiny and cute that the people in my street tend not to take so much notice of me. My parents seem to think I sleep all the time they didn't suspect anything either.

Today I went undercover to an important, top secret bird meeting downtown by the pond. Dad came and fetched me when we were finished. I also want to post a picture of me in a T-shirt I just got from the nice stand-in neighbours downstairs . They are looking after the apartment for my regular neighbours who ran away from home to go to China.

Dad took this picture of aliens invading an uninhabited island nearby. They say the aliens were looking for Yoko Ono but she had already left Iceland. John Lennon's son Sean and Ringo Starr also just got away from the island in time so the aliens had to leave again empty handed. They left sometime before midnight when I was sleeping. I didn't know there were such fanatic Beatles fans in outer space.

Taking your clothes on and off is so tiring. I don't get how those super models manage to stay awake. My parents must have signed me into super model school or something. I think I must be in some kind of training program for it. There is always a new outfit I have to wear. Especially before we go out. I try to tell mum that I don't have to dress up to go to Bonus (the supermarket) but she doesn't listen to a word I say.

Today I went on my first jeep trip. I went to Landmannalaugar with the twins and some other unbelievable old people. The senior citizens put us to sleep in a huge stroller while they went swimming in the hot springs. It was so unfair. However Jaki in the middle thought we overreacted.

I wasn't allowed to drive at all being only 5 weeks and 5 days old. In stead I was tied to a tiger cage in the back seat and I had to watch it laugh at me all the way. Then I fell asleep of exhaustion looking out for the tiger.
On the way back we stayed overnight with the twins. Mum and dad smelled so bad after the trip I had to send them into the hot tub. I looked after the mum and dad of Jökull & Jaki for them in the meantime.

Dad's karate students gave me this custom made karate gi. It's quiet necessary to have your own karate gi. Allthough the nappies makes it kind of uncomfortable to wear. They also set me up with a personal trainer. Here is a picture from our first session. I try to learn these karate moves through osmosis.

This is how wrinkled I was when I was born. On babies wrinkles are regarded as super cute skin charac- teristics. Please remember that you thought it was cute that I was snoring too!

Babies nowadays are supposed to blog about how great they are. Going on and on about their many skills and unbelievable cuteness. So here we go. When I was born they gave me this shirt. A very old friend of my parents commented:
"yeah right, maybe in a few years"
as if I wasn't worthy of wearing it.
And what have you accomplished in more than three decades if I may ask? Don't let my innocent appearance fool you! Here are my top 5 achievements at the age of 5 days when this picture was taken:
  1. Being invited to play for the English National Volleyball Team of lesbians in the European Championships. This must be regarded an even bigger achievement being a boy and all! I coldn't help mum didn't want to throw herself on the belly and chickened out. I would have won the bronze medal.
  2. Getting on top of the Langjökull glacier on my 3rd attempt.
  3. Going on a yearly 4x4 jeep trip for woman as a secret passenger. Sharing a jeep with my top secret twin friends Jökull & Jaki we actually outnumbered the women in our jeep without any of the women travelers noticing.
  4. Hitchhiking to Oslo in the middle of the night to catch a plane when the E6 main road was swept away by a flood and the bus decided to take a detour without letting anyone know.
  5. Lifting weights at the gym for 7 months. My folks have always said stretching improves your karate so I have also done a lot of stretches in my days. This is a good one.
