Icelanders didn't go trick or treat yesterday. There was a rumour prices would go up by 25% on beer and wine today so people stood in lines outside the Government liquor stores. They had to let people into the stores in smaller groups. Then as it turns out the prices were only raised by a little more than 5%. People are also buying a lot more food than before and when the banks were taken over by the Government old people were seen leaving the banks carrying plastic bags with their life savings. I can't help starting to wonder how they solve the storage problem?
