In Switzerland they are world champions in making inventive advent calendars. My Swiss friend send out an e-mail every day in December until Christmas. This year the calendar theme is a polar bear travelling around Iceland. Each day you get a new picture.
Iceland is a small country. Once we drove across the Vatnajökull glacier, where you can drive for hours through a vast desert of snow without seeing any trace what so ever of human life. There we ran into a tent which happened to be our friends. But she wasn't at home so Dad left a message for her and a present.
